Why freshness is the first question
Your feet sweat, and sweat grows bacteria. That's what you smell by the end of a long day, especially in closed shoes or after hours on your feet. NƟRM is built to stop the bacteria before it starts, and keep stopping it for as long as you own the sock.
What's in a NƟRM sock
65% silver-ion fibre. 20% combed cotton for how it feels against the skin. 10% nylon to hold the shape. 5% spandex for stretch. That's an unusual ratio. Most sock makers start with cotton and add function later, if they add it at all. We did it the other way around, and built the sock around the freshness fibre.
How silver-ion neutralises odour
Silver ions interrupt the bacteria that turn sweat into smell. They don't mask the smell. They don't dry out your feet. They stop the bacteria from doing what bacteria does. Because the silver is part of the fibre and not a spray sitting on top of it, the effect doesn't wear off.
Woven in, not sprayed on
This is the part that matters most. Our silver ions are bonded into the yarn during spinning, before the sock even exists. Every strand of silver-ion fibre is permanently silver-ion fibre. You can wash it, stretch it, wear it for a year, and the freshness stays, because it is the yarn. It's not a coating on top.
OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified
Silver on skin sounds a little strange if you've never heard of the textile. It's been used in medical fabrics for decades. Wound dressings, hospital sheets, athletic base layers. It's inert on skin. Our fibre is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, which means it's been independently tested safe for long-contact skin wear. That's exactly the kind of wear a sock asks of your foot.
100+ wears, guaranteed
We put liability behind the claim. If a NƟRM sock stops feeling fresh within 100 wears, we'll refund it. No questions. The guarantee exists because freshness isn't a marketing line for us. It's the whole reason the product exists, and we're willing to carry the cost if it fails.
How to keep freshness going
Machine wash cold, inside out. Tumble dry low or air dry. That's it. There's no special treatment to maintain, because there's no coating to protect. The silver-ion fibre does its job on the first wash and the two-hundredth wash the same way.
